As a teacher with over 30 years of experience of teaching English to children and adults, I understand the language needs of students of all ages and all levels. After teaching in a junior high school in Israel for 9 years, I learned about the most common problems of children in the lower streams.

When I started teaching privately, I wanted to reinforce my students’ reading skills and I thought about using the game Happy Families (known as Go Fish in the US) to help them. I looked on the Internet and couldn’t find anything suitable, so I began by downloading copyright-free images and making my own cards. The game helped my students to learn new words and they also enjoyed playing it, so much so that when I gave them a choice between playing a game on the computer and playing the card game, very often they would choose the card game.

In this way I realized that these games could be used by any teacher, parent, or grandparent to reinforce not only reading but also speaking in English. So far, we have sold them in the UK, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Japan, and Switzerland.
